Scarlet Ibis

A bright red small bird of arounf 60cm long, native to South America. They are very social and will form flocks of up to 30 individuals called a 'congregation'. Their long, thin and curved bills allow them to forage for their food by probing them under mudflats and plants in search of insects and crustaceans. They have partially webbed feet and long legs to help with wading.
