Research at Drayton Manor Zoo

Our Mission Statement

'Drayton Manor Zoo raises awareness of and actively combats the current man- made global extinction crisis that is blighting our planet and resulting in the loss of species and habitats on an unprecedented scale.'

Zoos have a unique opportunity to conduct life-changing research into exotic species. This research can help us learn more about their biology, reproduction, welfare and health. Research can be used to improve the care and management of animals both in captivity and the wild, playing a vital role in conservation.

Here at Drayton Manor Zoo, we encourage and facilitate zoological research that supports our mission statement and improves the health and welfare of animals.

We welcome a range of research opportunities for:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Postgraduate students
  • Professional researchers
